Big Brother Babes Sexy Night Out At Mayfair's Embassy Club
The Big Brother Phenomenon Uncovered At London's Embassy Club Stunning Miss Marie and Anna Lu from Amber Models UK Move In Picture Exclusive and Synopsis On Britain's No. 1 Reality Show

/Entertainment News Articles/ - NORWICH, UK, June 15, 2008 - Hate it or love it, Big Brother has millions glued to the television and continues to fascinate global viewing. On the eve of the 9th series past contestant gathered at London's Embassy night club to see the opening ceremony on screen and re-live past experience. It was a golden chance to catch an abundance of past Big Brother personalities all under one roof.

This was too good to miss so I set out to capture the event in pictures and try and discover what effect the series had on people that had been in the house already. If one was to uncover the psychology and formula that makes Big Brother so popular there wasn't going to be a better opportunity than this.

When Miss Marie and Anna Lu from Amber Models offered me a ticket to the event, I jumped at the chance knowing that it would not only make a good social diary feature but an excellent interview platform to answer the many questions I often asked myself about the programme. The stunning Amber Model girls from Norwich were a vital ingredient to a very successful photographic and editorial assignment that I predicted wasn't going to be a walk over. It worked to our advantage that we introduced ourselves and courteously made it clear to staff and organisers what our intentions were from the start.

We arrived at the Embassy and were welcomed by former house mate Billi Bhatti, the atmosphere was set as everyone gathered around the screen to see the Big Brother opening. You could feel the tension as if previous housemates knew exactly what was going to happen followed by a transparent sigh of relief and a surge to the bar when it was over.

Billi Bhatti was conveniently the first housemates I spoke to, a 26 year old model from Uxbridge. that appeared in Big Brother 8. "I have noticed a difference in Big Brother" said Billi "Where as the fist set of programmes were based around the fascination of social experimentation the latter helpings are more about instant celebrity status. It was inevitable this was going to happen and I feel if there is a loss of popularity this is why. The strangest thing that happened concerning my modelling work is that after I entered the house I found it affected my assignments. All of a sudden most jobs had to be Big Brother based so I would say, yes, definitely affected work. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed Big Brother I had indifferences with Charlie and was accused of splitting up a couple, Ziggy and Chanelle, personally I don't think I was the major influence for that anyway but that's what the viewers saw. One has to be careful because at the expense of becoming popular with the tabloids you may loose votes from the public I only found out about the mixed reaction when I left the house"

"You have to be mentally very strong to enter the house. My advice to potential housemates is, if it's fame and fortune you are looking for it's essential to have strategy in place before you go in. The name of the game is to always make yourself indispensable. Time your arguments a) between unpopular housemates and b) Just after nominations"

"Big Brother can pave the way for work when you leave the house, for example, Alex was a clean freak on the show and landed a Demestos advert. Chanelle gained a lot of modelling work with her evident fascination about Victoria Beckham"

"Yes, I would go on the show again but I would play my cards differently - there are no points for being entertaining"

I was delighted to come across a personal favourite housemate from Big Brother 2003 amongst the crowd, beautiful Sissy Rooney, It was interesting to receive views from someone who entered the house because of her sisters recommendation rather than a quest for fame.

"I'm a down to earth girl from Liverpool" said Sissy in her unmistakable scouser accent "I really didn't go into the house to become a celebrity, it was a dare by my sister. The Big Brother experience didn't change me a bit. I have been through a lot of hardship in my life, it's made me who I am. There was something good that came out of it though, it mended family feuds. It's not all about what TV programme you're on, more so loving the people around you that really care"

"Big Brother is a test of psychological stamina, it's not easy! Entering the house is like a train ride and all of a sudden you come to a station you haven't seen before. Before people are subjected to the house they are consulted by a professional psychologist, I don't think a lot of people know that"

"The other good thing is you meet new friends, I got along well with John Tickle, Ray Shar and Cameron Stout. One of my favourite guys from the programme must be Craig Coats, he is a genuine person beyond belief, straight like an arrow and it's great I keep in contact with him"

I promised Sissy that I would mention her website and the wonderful work she does on there. The Street Style Surgery exists to provide a platform for the youth of today, and the socially disadvantaged to express themselves creatively though fashion design and clothing, while promoting creativity, inovation, individualism, pride and confidence. http://www.streetstylesurgery.co.uk It seems that Big Brother affects people in different ways depending on what they are seeking from the exposure.

By this time the club music was in full swing and it was refreshing to see the likes of Victor Ebuwa and Gerry Stergiopoulos letting their hair down and being themselves. I was coming to the conclusion these sometimes controversial and charismatic people that were centre of attention on Big Brother were very real after all. After surviving a big man hug from Victor I introduced myself to Gerry in his native Greek language, It broke the ice immediately and he was taken aback that I was also from Greek decent. He agreed to have a chat upstairs in the less noisy environment of the foyer.

Gerry bought up a very interesting point concerning different cultures that enter the house. For example, being Greek focused on how the London Greek community would react to his open views "I was worried how my family would take it" said Gerry "Being Greek you are set strong cultural values that may not only affect home life but work also. I was the first Greek to enter the house and I knew the Greeks in London would be looking for me to set a good example. A mixed reaction to my liberal outlook was inevitable but you have to be strong enough to follow your personal beliefs in general. For me Big Brother served as a platform and I had the strength and foresight to understand that a lot was to be gained from the exposure. I landed a spot on London Greek Radio for a while after the show but I'm now releasing a book. So yes, the benefit of appearing on the programme was worth it" The book sounds amazing and It's something we would like to share here on Amber Models UK when Gerry is ready.

We had plenty to chat about driving back to the North Norfolk coast in the early hours of the morning, I asked Miss Marie what her conclusion was to the evening "Even though I feel Big Brother has run it's course I view it from a different perspective now" said Marie "I have the utmost respect for all the people we spoke to tonight, it takes a lot of courage to expose yourself as they did. The good thing is that they have an opportunity to expand on what they really want to do now because of the enormous publicity"

I personally see things a little differently now and would like to extend my appreciation not only to the hospitality we received on the night but also to the producers and the team that must work extremely hard to put together such a complex show.
