/Entertainment News Articles/ - LIVERPOOL, UK, July 03, 2008 - The internationally renowned Rapper, NazB is coming to the UK this July to campaign for an end to knife and gun crime on the street. He believes that rappers have a unique role to play in stopping youngsters carrying knives and guns. He is appealing to fellow rap stars to support the cause.

NazB is spreading the message through his gigs at the clubs in London and through the TalentGold website.

NazB says "Rappers have had a bad press like they are supposed to think it's cool to carry weapons. Not true. We love the kids and don't want to see them getting into real trouble. We think that the kids will listen to what we say because they respect us. So I say to all you kids out there - don't carry knives or guns. If you get into trouble you will hurt others and will suffer for the rest of your life. Don't do it".

Susan Carter, Creative Director at TalentGold, put it like this "We are delighted to support NazB's campaign both because we think he is a great artist and because he is standing up for making life better for the kids."

NazB knows what he is talking about. His story is one that he hopes will inspire the kids in the community. NazB is a genuine rapper who has the background that makes his rap so real. This is no middle-class black guy. NazB was born into grinding poverty in Nigeria. As a youngster he lived on the streets of the poorest countries in Africa. Yet his is a message of hope. He wants to tell the kids of today "If I can make it, so can you."

NazB explained that as a youngster he lived on the streets of Ghana, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Ivory Coast, and Surinam. Crime and drugs were all around him as he struggled to survive in the world. Now he is successful and, he hopes, an inspiration to young kids everywhere. He has shown that poverty does not have to be a blockage to success.
