Entertainment Website Interviews Bill Ward of Black Sabbath

CHATSWORTH, CA, August 07, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Back Page Magazine, a new music and entertainment website recently interviewed drummer Bill Ward who revealed that Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath indeed played together, confirming the infamous "Black Zeppelin session."

Music journalist Marshall Ward, on assignment for Back Page Magazine, has been a lifelong fan of both bands, but particularly Black Sabbath. For decades, unconfirmed rumors had swirled that Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath met in a recording studio in the 1970s for a jam session. Despite this, no one had talked about this in any detail, and Ward made it his mission to find out the facts.

For writer Ward this interview was a dream-come-true: "I have never seen a story that really delves into the Black Zeppelin rumor, despite the fact that I have been a huge fan of Black Sabbath my whole life, and my collection of books, magazines, newspaper articles, and recordings is vast."

In addition to sharing his recollections about the Black Zeppelin studio experience, Black Sabbath's Bill Ward is candid in his praise for Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. It was always suspected that these two fellow stickmen were competitive to the point of animosity. In actuality, Ward confided "to me, Bonham was the premiere hard rock drummer of the last century, and so far, still is."
