Wine and Design Raleigh Sponsors Family-Friendly Bickett Fest on October 30th
Business "block party" to feature sidewalk sale, painting demos, giveaways, refreshments, children's activities, and pumpkin painting

RALEIGH, NC, October 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wine and Design Raleigh is proud to be sponsoring Bickett Fest on Sunday, October 30th from 3:00-6:00pm in the Bickett Village parking lot. The three-hour event will take on a "block party" feel and is co-sponsored by fellow Bickett Village tenants Beauty Lounge and The Painted Butterfly.

Wine and Design first opened its doors in Raleigh in April 2010 as the dream of longtime friends and business partners Emmy Preiss and Harriet Mills. The wine/painting party concept was a first in the Triangle and has proven so popular, that Preiss and Mills currently have franchises operating in Wake Forest, Wilmington, Wilson, Jamestown, Cary, Charlotte, and Asheville.

The premise for the business is simple and has proven popular since its opening—Wine and Design provides the canvas, cover-up, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing. Participants browse the studio's website to find a painting they would like to replicate. Sessions are led by local artists that guide participants through a carefully-orchestrated, step-by-step process. Wine and Design accepts general reservations, but also books private parties and fundraisers. Mills says that Bickett Fest is a wonderful opportunity for families not familiar with their business to come out and experience the painting party concept firsthand.

"Several of our artists will be out and demonstrating our studio paintings, as well as selling some of their finished artwork," says Mills. "People are often wary of signing up for one of our classes because they don't have any painting experience. Once you come out and see how it easy it is to create your own work of art, you'll be hooked! It truly is a leave-your-worries-at-the-door experience. Everyone who signs up and sips up has a great time."

Bickett Fest will also feature live music, children's activities including games and crafts, parking lot games for children and adults, delicious food and drink, raffles, free giveaways, pumpkin painting by The Painted Butterfly, and glitter and glam by Beauty Lounge.
