Steeleye Span will play songs from their classic album Now We Are Six at Truro's Hall for Cornwall on December 2nd.

CORNWALL, ENGLAND, November 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Legendary folk-rock group Steeleye Span are set to play live at the Hall for Cornwall next month.

The pioneering band's show at the Truro theatre on Friday December 2nd will give fans an opportunity to see them perform as a six-piece for the first time in many years.

With lead vocalist Maddy Prior back in the fold, the group are expected to revisit their seminal 1974 album Now We Are Six and play classic tracks from throughout their career.

As well as Prior, the current Steeleye Span line-up features fiddle player Peter Knight, bassist Rick Kemp, Liam Genocky on drums and guitarists Julian Littman and Pete Zorn.

Now We Are Six was produced by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull and features the band's arrangements of traditional songs such as Thomas the Rhymer and Two Magicians.

The album is also notable for including a guest appearance by David Bowie, who plays alto saxophone on To Know Him Is To Love Him.

Tickets for Steeleye Span's Cornwall show are available online, priced at GBP18.50 and GBP20.50.
